  1. 1. Do Xrays include more invasive tests like MRIs PET, etc? Some of these plans are very specific.. so if it’s not written it’s not covered. Diagnostic radiology such as sonograms, ultrasound, colonoscopies… some of my clients aren’t getting cancer, but they are going through bigger tests to find other conditions.
    2. Critical illness plan is great– but outpatient surgery, skin and breast biopsies which are noncancerous, — what about coverage for hospitalization for other things– pneumonia, COPD, joint replacements … ?
    3. Blood transfusions? They can be for other things besides accidents….

    thanks

    1. 1) Yes, Xrays under the Minmum Value plans does, for the MEC plans it does not, the MV are considered comprehensive, even though it as high limits on the max out of pocket medical expenses, the plan design is an advantages to employers in the fact they cab add back other features on an individual or benefit wide basis. We explain all of this during our presentation as to how we right size their accounts, again using the analogy paying for cabel televison watching 5 channels and paying for 500 this is what happens in the health insurance industry as well. 2) The critical illness is a lifestyle proctor, the lump sum can be used for any expense including those you mentioned
      3) Blood transfusions is another limited benefit under our plans, but we do have options for making the plans more robust to include greater features through WOW Health another partner of ours.
